The event, scheduled to be held at 8 pm (1700 GMT) on August 14, is being hosted by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and the Indian Paralympics Association (IPA).
The IOC will announce the details on Monday.
The event will take place on the first day of the Paralympal Games in Rio de Janeiro and will be the final event of this year’s Games in India.
The IOA is hosting the event, which is part of its Games in Asia and Europe series.
Organizers said that all participants, including those who will compete in the Paralykampas, will be required to wear the same style of formal attire as their official dress uniform.
It was a matter of tradition to allow the athletes to be able to wear different styles of black tie in a similar fashion, IOC President Jacques Rogge said.
The IOC has been asked to decide by September 29 whether the event will go ahead.
During the Olympics, the IOC is organising the main Paralympian and Paralympist medals and also the main individual and team events in various sports.
