The main event of the Commonwealth Games has been officially announced, but the preparations for the big night are already underway.
The Commonwealth Games are held every four years in the USA, with the Commonwealth Women’s Championship held at the same venue as the Olympics.
As well as the women’s tournament, there are also events for men’s and men’s team events, track and field and cross country, diving, gymnastics, rugby, sailing, athletics, canoeing, swimming and a host of other sports.

How many hours will the games last?
The four-day schedule has been announced by Glasgow City Council, and the Scottish Games Association, which is organising the Games.
There are currently only two days of football matches scheduled, with a single rugby match on the weekend.
What will happen during the games?
The games will take place in Glasgow’s Olympic Stadium, the world’s largest venue for sporting events.
It is expected to host 50,000 spectators, which will make for an extremely large atmosphere.
